About us
Lotus Arts Horticulture was founded by Fergus Quinn in 2018, initially working across North West London before relocating to Malvern. Since its beginnings, Lotus Arts has focused on creative and environmentally sensitive horticulture, bringing together garden design, landscaping, organic growing, wildlife-friendly planting and the use of natural materials.
The journey took an important step forward with the purchase of three acres of land in the Wye Valley. This created an opportunity to put many of these ideas into practice on a larger scale and to develop a permanent place for growing, learning, conservation and community involvement.
Govardhan Eco Farm CIC was established in November 2024 as a separate Community Interest Company to develop this work for wider community and environmental benefit.
The Farm
Govardhan Eco Farm is gradually being developed as a small ecological and educational farm where organic food growing, wildlife, creativity and practical learning can exist side by side.
The site includes organic growing areas, wildlife ponds, composting, habitat restoration and spaces for workshops and community activities. The aim is not simply to develop the land, but to work with its existing character and ecology and demonstrate practical ways in which people can grow food, create habitats and reconnect with the natural world.
Lotus Arts provides horticultural, landscaping and project services to Govardhan Eco Farm CIC, bringing the practical experience developed through Lotus Arts into the CIC's work on the land.
People & Community
Fergus Quinn is the founder of Lotus Arts Horticulture and a director of Govardhan Eco Farm CIC. He has more than twenty-five years of practical horticultural experience and is closely involved in the design and development of the farm and its community and environmental projects.
Richard Dench is a director of Govardhan Eco Farm CIC and has a background working with the Woodland Trust. He has a longstanding interest in organic farming, conservation and the protection of landscapes and the natural environment, and has invested in the Wye Valley land on which the project is based.
The CIC also works with local people, volunteers and workshop leaders. An important part of its purpose is to create opportunities for practical learning and employment. Where possible, local people are employed on projects, while workshops and volunteering provide opportunities to learn horticultural, ecological and land-based skills.

The development of Govardhan Eco Farm has been made possible with the support of organisations that share our commitment to community and environmental work.
Funding from The National Lottery Community Fund has supported the continuing development of the farm, including facilities for community learning, habitat restoration and practical workshops.
Herefordshire Community Foundation has also supported projects at the farm, including the creation and development of wildlife habitat and pond projects.
This support is helping us transform a small piece of land in the Wye Valley into a place where people can learn practical skills, grow food, support wildlife and experience a closer connection with the natural world.
Our Continuing Journey
What began with Lotus Arts in 2018 has gradually grown beyond individual gardens. Govardhan Eco Farm CIC provides a way of taking the same principles — creativity, ecological horticulture and working sensitively with nature — and applying them for wider community benefit.
The farm continues to evolve, with new habitat, growing and learning projects being developed as resources allow. At its heart is a simple idea: horticulture can create beautiful places while also restoring nature, producing food, developing practical skills and bringing people together.
